STSWR would rather hire scab labour than negotiate with its own employees.

The experienced, qualified workers at the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR), who specialize in planning, coordinating and monitoring the transportation of Waterloo Region’s 30,000 elementary and high school students, have been on a legal strike since June. They took this action after TRYING FOR TWO YEARS to negotiate a fair deal with their employer.

But instead of bargaining with its employees, STSWR wants to hire temporary, inexperienced and unqualified replacement workers to muddle through this specialized work at the busiest time of the year.

Please contact the school board chairs in Waterloo Region and tell them that STSWR should be bargaining with its own employees instead of placing student transportation in Waterloo Region into the hands of unqualified workers who don’t know what they’re doing.
